Wizkid and Davido's Clash In Twitter Feud

Wizkid and Davido recently engaged in a heated Twitter exchange, sparking speculation that the era of musical feuds has extended into Afrobeats. 2024 has witnessed a surge in conflicts among artists across various genres. It all began in dancehall late last year when Rvssian introduced his Dutty Money Riddim, igniting a frenzy among artists vying for a spot on the project. This momentum spilled into the new year with a heated feud involving Jada Kingdom and Stefflon Don, both of whom released songs on the Dutty Money Riddim.

In March 2024, tensions escalated in the hip hop scene, triggered by Kendrick Lamar's fiery verse on Future and Metro Boomin's track "Like That" from their collaborative album, "We Don’t Trust You." J. Cole swiftly responded, although he has since withdrawn from the feud. Drake also joined the fray with a diss track targeting Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, Future, The Weeknd, and Metro Boomin, while Rick Ross and Kanye West took shots at Drake in their own songs.

Now, the spotlight shifts to Afrobeats as a rift emerges between Wizkid and Davido. The friction between the two artists began when Wizkid shared a video purportedly showing Davido in a vulnerable moment. Although the authenticity of the video is uncertain, it has circulated widely in recent weeks.

In a series of posts, Wizkid taunted Davido and his entourage, questioning their musical prowess. He also hinted at Davido's alleged reliance on ghostwriters. Davido responded by dismissing Wizkid's claims and insinuating that he no longer sees the value in engaging in such disputes. He also took jabs at Wizkid's personal life, referring to him in derogatory terms.

Amidst the exchange, Davido revealed that he is currently enjoying a vacation in Montego Bay, Jamaica, with his wife Chioma. Despite the heated rhetoric, the outcome of this feud remains uncertain as both artists continue to assert their dominance in the Afrobeats landscape.
